Fairmont, WV (March 1, 2018) — Radiological Physician Associates (RPA), a premier provider of professional radiology services, announces that they have been awarded the professional imaging services agreement with Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Weston, West Virginia.
RPA delivers a full range of professional services primarily through their quality radiologists and an extensive cloud-based teleradiology system. “RPA’s physicians are top quality radiologists and their practice organization is remarkable”, said Brenda Tonkin, Chief Technologist at Stonewall Jackson Memorial. “The radiology reports are being read within minutes and available to our hospital physicians with a quick impression, which allows for a more informed diagnosis. RPA provided the leadership to interface our hospital system with their radiology reporting system in an effective manner.”
“Outsourcing our teleradiology system from an internal server based to an external cloud-based system was a difficult decision for RPA,” said Sam Merandi, Administrative Vice President. “However, we evaluated multiple vendors and decided upon NUANCE along with eUnity and ThinAir Data, which were the clear choices to handle our expansive teleradiology operations. We were very impressed with their respective management teams and their focused view on technology in the image sharing process.”
RPA was founded in 1968, covering one hospital in Fairmont, WV. As RPA began to grow they realized the necessity of teleradiology. True pioneers in the medical field, the RPA radiologists and staff initiated the tradition of utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and delivering top quality services to their customers, including being the first group in West Virginia to provide electronic diagnostic services to numerous outlying facilities, beginning in 1988. RPA has appointed Garrett Stover, M.D. as Medical Chief of Radiology.
“We are very excited to have RPA returning to the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital family,” said Avah Stalnaker, CEO. “RPA is a quality group of radiologists that we have contracted with in the past and we look forward to maintaining a long term relationship in the years ahead. Their impact on the quality of care has been felt immediately and their implementation and conversion has been seamless.”
Radiological Physician Associates (RPA) is one of the largest private radiology practices in West Virginia. Founded in 1968 they have grown to become a steadfast provider of diagnostic imaging services throughout the state. Success for RPA is defined by an unyielding enthusiasm for groundbreaking technology, as well as by remaining true to their founding principles. Fifty years ago, RPA forged a mission to deliver responsive, prompt and knowledgeable medical diagnostic services; a dedication that continues today through a team of 20 Board Certified Radiologists serving 14 hospitals, 15 outpatient clinics and 5 private physician offices.
